Camp Pomperaug
Camp Pomperaug is located adjacent to the Massachusetts border in Northeast Connecticut, in Union, easily accessible from Interstate 84, Exit 74 and within easy access of Sturbridge Village and UCONN programs. The Camp consists of 160-acres of forest including our own Wells Pond, as well as access to Lake Mashapaug, one of the most beautiful lakes in Connecticut with record breaking fishing opportunities. Our Camp is surrounded by Nipmuck State Forest.
The Camp is operational year round except in July due to summer resident camp programs. One weekend each month has been earmarked for Scouting use. Alternate dates may be requested with at least 60 days advance notice, approval being contingent upon other scheduled camp activities/programs. We welcome all Scouting units to experience Camp Pomperaug.
Year-round programs consist of tent, lean-to or lodge camping, fishing, hiking, water sports, canoeing, boating, cross country skiing sports and/or improvised games/outdoor activities. A Campmaster will be available to help you have a fun Scouting weekend.
