CYC, BSA :: Camping :: High Adventure Programs

Get out of the house and into the excitement offered at one of the BSA's High Adventure Bases! You've got three choices: a unique aquatic quest at the Florida Sea Base; a canoeing or winter camping challenge at the Northern Tier; or a wild west backpacking expedition at the Philmont Scout Ranch. Local High Adventure opportunites can also be found nearby at Deer Lake Scout Reservation in Killingworth or at Camp Sequassen in New Hartford.

Special High Adventure Opportunity for Scouts and Adults

during Week 7 of Boy Scout Resident Camp

During week 7, August 5-11, 2012, a high adventure opportunity for Scouts, the White Mountain Trek, combines access to programs at Camp Sequassen with a four day backpacking trip over Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the eastern continental United States.
For adult unit leaders, week 7 brings the chance to take part in a five day training trek in the White Mountain National Forest. This Introduction to Backpacking and Hiking in the White Mountains will prepare leaders to plan, organize and lead a backpacking/hiking high adventure activity for their unit in the White Mountains.
