Ropes, Boats & Gunpowder

The Ropes, Boats & Gunpowder Challenge is a

specialized program for older Scouts and Venturers

Thursday, July 27 - Sunday, July 30, 2017

at Camp Sequassen in New Hartford CT

Ropes, Boats, and Gunpowder is a high adventure event for young men and women, 14-20 years old.  It’s a great way to challenge yourself, try new things, meet new friends, and just have fun.  The Aquatics, Climbing, Shooting, and Program Action Centers offer a wide variety of exciting activities and creative challenges.

We’ll eat meals in the dining hall and stay in lean-to buildings at night, but the rest of the time we’ll explore the action centers!  The Aquatics Center offers sailing, SCUBA diving, stand-up boards, snorkeling with Sea Scooters, tubing on the Farmington River and crossing the pond on a multitude of watercraft.  The Climbing Center challenges climbers to “Top-Out” on the climbing tower, master your fears on the high wire course or scale a vertical rock wall like a lizard.  The Shooting Center offers archery, rifle and shotgun challenges that will give you a whole new appreciation of shooting sports.  The Program Center features a large scale backwoods engineering project and teamwork challenges.  Evening activities will keep you awake with games, movies, and socializing with a bunch of new friends.

There are only 150 slots for young men and women, ages 14-20, so don’t wait!  Don’t miss the excitement and hold your spot with a $50 deposit.  Individual and group registrations will be accepted.  The $220 fee includes all meals, staff managed programs, equipment and supplies for scheduled activities, limited edition patch, and a group photo.  Adult leaders may attend for $60.  Participants must be registered and paid in full by July 1, 2017.

The camp program begins at 9:00 AM on Thursday, July 27, and ends at noon on Sunday, July 30. Don’t be late! An information packet will be sent to you upon receipt of your registration and deposit.
