Be Prepared for the fun and adventures of a new program year of Scouting. Join us on Wednesday,August 27 with the start of Roundtables and a Fall District Kick-off. This is for all leaders and concerned parents in your unit. Hot dogs and soft drinks provided and all the latest information on Fall activities, Fall Recruitment, School Night to Join Scouting, Recruiting New Leaders, Popcorn, District Training and so much more. Your opportunity to network with other leaders, meet the District Team and share your ideas and concerns. To avoid a conflict with the School Night to Join Scouting Week and the start of Rosh Hashanah this will take the place of the September 10 Roundtable. Regular Roundtables start on the second Wednesday of each month, starting on October 8. Details to follow!

Roundtable begins at 7:30 p.m. and is always the second Wednesday of the month. It is at the LDS New Canaan Chapel on South Avenue (Route 124), across from the entrance to Waveny Park.

This months Boy Scout Roundtable topics will include: Webelos to Scout transition, Spring Camporee, West Point Orienteering, Boy Scout Spring Recruitment, and Order of the Arrow Updates.

This month's Cub Scout topics will include: District Pinewood Derby, 2nd. Annual District Cubmobile, and Spring recruitment, Spring Recruitment.

Powahay District - Endowment - Longterm Support for Scoutin Posted Jun. 9, 2008
Scouting has a rich history in Connecticut going back to when Scouting was first established in 1910. Since then, millions of youth have benefited from its educational, family-orientated, values-driven fun program.

The Connecticut Yankee Council has an endowment fund to help secure Scouting's future here in southwestern Connecticut. You can do your part to help make sure Scouting is around for future boys by including the Council in your will or making an outright gift to the Endowment Fund in the form of a James E. West Fellowship or other form of gift.
