Powahay District - Boy Scout Fall Camporee Posted Aug. 30, 2017
Remembering World War II Fall Camporee - October 20-22, 2017 Hosted by Troop 53 Darien. Save the Date for a Fall Camporee dedicated to remembering the service of World War II veterans.

World War II was likely the bloodiest conflict in human history, with a death toll ranging between 60 and 85 million. The conflict is noted with the largest battle of all time at Stalingrad (over a million combatants on both sides), the largest tank battle ever at Kursk, mammoth amphibious assault on Normandy and Okinawa, and the use of the atomic bomb at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Join us for this weekend as we put into practice Scout Skills and competitions and an opportunity for Scouts to learn about World War II.

Scouts.. prepare to satisfy the urges of your inner Patton! We’ve added a Gaming component to the event.

Powahay District - Boy Scout Instructors Wanted Posted Jul. 27, 2017
Webelos College Boy Scout Instructors Wanted – November 4: Once again we would like to invite a team of older Boy Scouts from each of our troops to teach at the Webelos Adventure College with at least one adult advisor. We’re not looking for your entire troop, but just 3 to 5 boys and at least one adult. A great concept…. “While Webelos Scouts pass requirements at the badge college and get to know Boy Scouts as teachers and role models, the Boy Scouts gain experience planning, teaching classes, and dealing with younger boys who can sometimes present a challenge.” This provides another opportunity for Webelos to get comfortable working with Boy Scouts and to get them excited about joining a troop.

Powahay District - Health and Safety Posted May. 13, 2016
Important Reminder from Steve Coe, Powahay District Health and Safety Chairman:
All volunteers participating in Scouting activities should be familiar with the newly revised Guide to Safe Scouting. Failure to follow the GTSS could jeopardize BSA liability coverage for you, your unit, and your charter organization. Don’t put yourself or unit at risk. Each unit is required to carry at least Part A and B of the Annual Health and Medical Form and signed parent permission form. Please CLICK below for more information and to download forms.
