Dear Fellow Scouter,
Our children are returning to school. How quickly the summer has passed. The past two weeks have been filled with many Council, District and Unit planning activities.
Next Wednesday, August 27th at 7:00 PM, our district will be holding a scout recruitment training night at the Brown Pavilion at Hoyt Scout Reservation in
Your unit’s recruitment night is supported with flyer support and more. Please contact our District Executive, Frank Considine, fconsidi@bsamail.org or (203) 876-6868, Ext. 248. There will also be flyers on training at our district website. As a Cub Scout incentive, if registered by September 30th, the Tiger will receive a lunchbox, and Cubs a pinewood derby kit. A scout/parent coordinator for each pack qualifies for a free bag. Please e-mail me if I can support your unit recruitment in any manner.
Popcorn is upon us. On line ordering begins on September 5th. The youth kick off is scheduled for September 13th. More information is available at the Connecticut Yankee Council website. There are unique gifts if you participate. Maryanne Hilker is assisting our popcorn kernel, and can assist at hilker@ctyankee.org or (203) 876-6868, Ext. 255.
Our first District Committee meeting of this school year will be on Wednesday, September 3rd at St. Thomas Church in
