The first annual Shooting High Adventure Outdoor Weekend or S.H.O.W. is an exciting event for all adults age 21 and older.  This fundraising event will support the the Connecticut Yankee Council which provides Scouting opportunities to 10,000 youth in Fairfield and New Haven County.




Participants will have the opportunity to participate in all of these exciting activities:

The event will take place at the scenic Camp Pomperaug in Union, CT.  The Camp consists of 160-acres of forest including Wells Pond, as well as access to Lake Mashapaug, one of the most beautiful lakes in Connecticut with record breaking fishing opportunities. Our Camp is surrounded by Nipmuck State Forest.

Participants will have the choice from two sleeping arrangements: lean-to camping or an open air cabin.  The camp has running water and shower facilities available for use by participants.

The camp also features a central dining facility where meals will be provided to participants for the entire weekend.  The menu details will be announced in the near future.  Alcohol will also be served at select times during the weekend.  Participants will not be allowed to bring in their own alcohol to the event.



Participants will be able to check into the event starting at 8PM on Friday night and a cracker barrell and range safety training that night.

On Saturday will be put into groups of approximately 8 people and rotate throughout the day to the different program activities.  Saturday evening participants will have the opportunity to socialize and take part in a camp fire.

Sunday morning participants will be allowed to open access to any and all of the program areas before checking out at Noon.

Cost and Benefits

The cost of this weekend is $195.  In addition, to meals, program materials and alcoholic beverages (only during select portion of the event) participants will receive the following:

  • Polo Shirt
  • Event Patch
  • Commemorative Pint Glass

In addition, proceeds from the event will go to support the CT Yankee Council which supports scouting in Fairfield and New Haven County for 10,000 young men and women.
