TWO GREAT PINEWOOD DERBY EVENTS IN ONE DAY

DISTRICT HOSTS YOUR PACK

PINEWOOD DERBY RACES

We know Pack’s have had a hard time finding a meeting place this year and this has made holding a Pack Pinewood Derby Race difficult.  The Pomperaug District wants to help out by holding a day full of Pinewood Derby Races.

On April 24th the District will have a Pinewood Derby track available for packs to use at the lower pavilion at Old Mine Park in Trumbull. The district will provide all the equipment and personnel to run the race.  Your pack will just need to pre-screen the cars and provide the cars to the race officials individually boxed before race day.

Time slots will not be assigned at the time you register.  We will assign time slots to maximize participation.  For smaller pack’s we may run more the one pack together in a single race.

Pack members will be able to come to the park to watch your pack race live and in person.  However, it is expected that gathering restrictions will still be in place at the time of the event, so the total number of viewers may be limited.

Pack Finalists will be able to come to the park to watch your car race live and in person.  However, it is expected that gathering restrictions will still be in place at the time of the event, so the total number of viewers may be limited.”

POMPERAUG PINEWOOD DERBY CHAMPIONSHIP

The Annual Pomperaug District Pinewood Derby Championship will take place at the end of the District Pinewood Derby Day.  Packs in the Pomperaug District can submit the top racers from their Pack’s Race to compete against others for the opportunity to become the Pomperaug District Pinewood Derby Champion.

The race will take place at the lower Pavillion of Old Mine Park in Trumbull. If your pack is not participating in a race earlier in the day, you will need to give your cars to race officials in the days leading up to the event.  If your pack is participating in a race earlier in the day the top finishers’ cars will be kept for the championship race.
