2012 Unit Recharter Process

 

 

Welcome to the 2012 Connecticut Yankee Council unit recharter instructions.  This guide will walk you through this annual process to ensure that common errors are avoided. Please take your time and read the instructions completely. This will help you avoid mistakes that will cost you time and energy. 

 

Recharter is first and foremost about the youth and adults in your unit. It is our shared responsibility to ensure that everyone who believes that they are registered in the Boy Scouts of America are registered in the correct unit. All of the information collected during this process is vital to ensuring that the Connecticut Yankee Council and our volunteers can serve your unit during the coming year.  

 

IMPORTANT:  All Youth and Adult Registrations for new youth must be turned in to the Council Resource Center the month that the individuals join. Please send all applications to the Council Resource Center with appropriate registration fees prior to October 21.  This will allow us to process your registrations and have them appear on your Internet Recharter application after November 1.  You can complete steps 1-3 while you wait for applications to be processed and Internet Recharter to go live on November 1. 

 

* If you haven't recieved a postcard with your Internet Rechartering access code, please contact your District Executive.

 

First things First... do not pass go... you really should do this... 

  1. Select who will be responsibile for the recharter process.
  2. Conduct a Membership Inventory of your unit by following these instructions:

  3. Gather the registration information you need to process your charter, rosters, contact information, e-mail addresses..etc.

  

Recharter Process Timeline:

The recharter process should be completed by your District Recharter Day that will be held on November 19, 2011. Please be respectful of the time of the volunteers that are working to assist you in completing this process. Notification to the Institution Head of your Charter Organization will be made on December 1 to all units that have not completed the recharter process by that point.

 

 

You can begin the recharter process right away. Steps 1-3 are available now. Steps 4 and 5 can be completed after November 1. This is a time sensitve process, please be sure to start right away.

 

October 21, 2011       All new registrations submitted and paid for at the Council Resource Center.

November 1, 2011      Internet Rechartering goes “Live” allowing steps 4 and 5 to be completed

November 19, 2011    Council-wide Recharter Turn-in Day
