Here's the plan:

The Connecticut Yankee Council is in conjunction with Greenwich & Housatonic  councils plans to take 100 Scouts for the 14-day adventure (Sunday, July 19, 2026 to Saturday, August 1, 2026) and amazing activities on the way down. Want to come? Make sure you’re a youth who meets the participant qualifications, and agree to the jamboree code of conduct– but move quick, sign up is first-come-first-serve. You also must be registered in a Scouts BSA troop and at least 12 years old female or male.

Once you are registered, CYC will assign Scouts to be in a Jamboree troop of 36 Scouts with four adult leaders. Like in Scouts BSA, every Scout will be in a patrol within those troops. There will be pre-event Jamboree troop events that will be scheduled by the Scoutmaster. Before attending, you will need to submit a completed Jamboree medical form signed by a licensed physician and comply with the specified immunizations.

The National Jamboree is held at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve- 10,000 acres of beautiful, hilly land in West Virginia- needless to say, it is a hike! Participants need to be physically fit to fully enjoy the National Jamboree. There’s substantial walking to get to activity areas, and participants will need strength and stamina to do the activities they have hiked to. So get to work now so you’ll be physically fit in time!

Hey Adults, you can come too!

Council contingent leader registration is a  process. Qualified adult leaders are needed to serve as Jamboree troop Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters and crew Advisors. Leaders must be selected and approved by the Council’s National Jamboree Committee and complete Jamboree Scoutmaster training.

Application: Apply for Contingent Leadership (with council).  Selected leaders will be notified.
