Sixth Annual Quinnipiac District Dinner!

When: Wednesday, June 10th, arrival starting at 6:30, dinner and program starting at 7:00 pm

Where: The Pavilion at Ashlar Village, 100 Winding Bridge Road, Wallingford

If you know a Scouter that should be recognized, please consider submitting them for an award:

• SHINING STAR AWARD: Every unit is asked to submit the name of one adult leader to receive the Shining Star award. The district will bestow the award on behalf of the unit, but the unit makes the decision on who the award goes to. The unit decides if they want to tell the person about the award ahead of time or have them surprised when they come to the awards dinner.  Because of this, we will not be contacting the Shining Star recipients.

  Can past recipients receive this award- Yes

• VETERAN SCOUTER AWARD: This is an award where you are encouraged to submit your own name.  The veteran award recognizes adult leaders for the time they have been actively involved in Scouting, including time as a youth. If you, or a co-leader are celebrating a milestone anniversary in Scouting, please apply for this award.

  # of Awards Given- No limit

  Recipient selection- Award is non-competitive. Service time verified by council

  Can past recipients receive this award- Yes

• OUTSTANDING SCOUTER AWARDS (Multiple Categories): Does your unit have someone deserving of being the Committee Member of the Year, Den Leader of the Year, Assistant Scoutmaster of the Year or one of several other categories? One person is selected district-wide for each category. This is a great opportunity to recognize one, two, or several members of your unit leadership!

  # of Awards Given- Up to 1 per category. 

  Recipient selection- By District Awards Committee

  Can past recipients receive this award- Yes

• UNIT LEADER AWARD OF MERIT: The Unit Leader Award of Merit is presented to Scoutmasters, Cubmasters, Crew Advisors, & Sea Scout Skippers that meet the award criteria.  This award was developed to encourage leaders to strengthen their units through training, planning, communication, and advancement. Applications for this award must be submitted by the unit Committee Chair together with the top youth leader for the unit. Once submitted to us, the nomination will then be certified by either the unit commissioner or District Commissioner.

  Recipient selection- Award is non-competitive.

  Can past recipients receive this award- No

• DISTRICT AWARD OF MERIT: The District Award of Merit is the highest recognition that can be awarded by a District. It is presented to an adult leader that renders service to scouting at the District level.  Nominees for this award will be reviewed by members of our Awards Committee and those selected will be notified.

• SCOUTING FAMILY OF THE YEAR AWARD: Do you know a family where everyone seems to be involved in Scouting? This Award recognizes those families for whom Scouting is more than just a youth activity—it is a shared commitment and way of life. This honor is presented to families where everyone actively participates, supports one another, and contributes their time and talents to strengthen the Scouting program and community.

All nominations must be submitted by May 13, 2026.
