Winter 1776: Scouts of the Revolution
Saugatuck Klondike Derby 2026
Honoring 250 Years of American Spirit
January 23–25, 2026,
Hoyt Scout Reservation
Travel back in time to the winter of 1776 and experience life as a Continental Army scout during the fight for American independence. Your patrol has been called into service under General George Washington, tasked with surviving the cold, completing critical missions, and supporting the cause of liberty — all while enduring the realities of a Revolutionary War winter.
This year’s Klondike Derby kicks off our Semiquincentennial Celebration — 250 years of American history, courage, and innovation. Through a series of hands-on challenges, you’ll test your strength, skills, and teamwork the way a young soldier might have — hauling gear, building fire and shelter, carrying messages, and navigating unfamiliar terrain with only the land and the stars as your guide.
Are you ready to serve your country — and your patrol — in the spirit of 1776?
