Get ready for a fast, fun day of racing at the Saugatuck District Pinewood Derby Championship on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at The SONO Collection (Level 2), 100 N. Water St., Norwalk. Scouts racing pay $10 (includes patch, participation certificate, and awards); family and guests are free.

Each pack may send its top three finishers in each rank—Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos, and Arrow of Light (up to 18 racers per pack). If a top finisher can’t attend, an alternate may race in their place. Entries must be verified by the Cubmaster or Committee Chair.
Families can enjoy Lego Pinewood Derby, Inflatable Gaga Pit, crafts, coloring, tabletop games, and an opportunity to earn an America 250 Cub Scout Anniversary Award—plus plenty of time to shop and dine at The SONO Collection.
Volunteers are needed for car check-in, track officials, fix-it table, and activities. Shifts: 8:00 AM–12:15 PM or 12:45–2:00 PM. New this year: Scouts who didn’t place in their Pack’s top 3 may enter as a 2nd-chance racer if an adult volunteers for one full shift ($10 fee applies).

In conjunction with the Pinewood Derby Championship — Bring a Buddy! This is free but Pinewood Derby Racers must register above.
We’ve been given a HUGE indoor storefront space at The SoNo Collection—and we’re turning it into a FREE Family Fun Day open to the public. Rain or shine, we’re indoors! This is a terrific recruitment and visibility opportunity for every Pack, Troop, Crew, and Ship.
FREE & Open to the Public! Fun for kids of all ages. No Fee! No Registration! Just show up! Bring a Buddy (non-scout) to learn about Scouting.
