NOTICE: SCOUTING AMERICA’S RANGE AND TARGET ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE HAS ISSUED A SAFETY STAND-DOWN FOR ALL COUNCILS AND HIGH ADVENTURE BASES FOR SCOUTS AND NON-SCOUTS.
Due to a recent incident involving Range and Target activities, the National Scouting America office has directed an immediate safety stand-down across all Councils and National High Adventure Bases. This includes programs involving both Scouting and non-Scouting groups. This directive was issued out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all participants and staff. The National Safeguarding Youth Governance Committee will be convening to review the incident and determine the appropriate path forward. The stand-down will remain in effect until further notice. Additional guidance on the resumption of Range and Target Activities following the Safeguarding Youth Governance Committee meeting. The safety of everyone involved in the program is always a priority. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the safety of our programs.
