COPE: Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience

A Project COPE course provides an opportunity for each participant to achieve success as an individual and as a member of a patrol or team. Through initiatives, games, and mental and physical challenges, participants achieve the COPE objectives; building trust and confidence, developing leadership and problem solving skills and attaining a heightened sense of cooperation among team members. The course is designed to build more self-confidence in a shorter period of time than anything most people have experienced.

Camp Sequassen’s COPE facility consists of a high and low course and is open for unit activities year round except during July and August. A COPE experience is an entire day of program. Leaders looking to develop a powerful sense of teamwork among their members should opt for an all-day low COPE experience. If the objective is to develop self-confidence and self-esteem through physical and emotional challenges, then the all-day low/high COPE experience is recommended.

  • An all-day team building low COPE experience is $450 for 6-10 participants; additional participants are $40 each
  • An all-day team building/challenge on the low and high COPE courses is $575 for 6-10 participants; additional participants are $50 each

Participants must be eligible to register as members of a Scouts BSA Troop or a Venture Crew and provide a medical information form showing clearance for stressful activity. For participants under the age of 18, a parental informed consent and release form is also required. Please review the Reservation Procedure for additional requirements.

Reservations may be made by contacting the Council Camp Registrar at 203-951-0237. Please register at least 60 days in advance of your desired date. The COPE reservation and fee does not include a camping reservation which, if desired, must be processed separately.
