In response to COVID, the BSA and the Emergency Care and Safety Institute developed a hybrid version of the 16-hour Wilderness First Aid Course. The first part, which must be completed successfully prior to May 7, is a mixture of home study, video, and review of lectures. To complete this part, the student must purchase ($40.00) the course individually, follow the course instructions, pass the final test, and come to the May 7 session with a printed copy of the completion certificate. Then on May 7, the student must actively participate in all of the review and skills stations. Upon completion of this segment, the instructor will complete the necessary paperwork to allow issuance of the ECSI BSA/WFA Course Completion Card. This version of the course and card are accepted at BSA high adventure camps.
