Powder Horn 2023

Bring the Adventure Home

Providing a vibrant outdoor program for your unit isn’t easy

Sept. 22-24 | Camp Sequassen

Experience the solution at Powder Horn, where we help you deliver on the promise of Scouting: Adventure!

At Powder Horn, knowledge is gained not just through discussion, but by doing it in a hands-on approach. You will “learn by doing” as you try each activity, and experience how much fun your unit can have. Over the course of one weekend, you’ll have fun outside while learning from experts on how to arrange equipment, facilities, guides, instructors, and other aspects of outdoor fun for your unit. The best part is that most of these programs are available at Camp Sequassen, the site of this year’s course.

Powder Horn is for adult leaders in Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, Cub Scouts, and older youth leaders!

Powder Horn is open to all registered adult and youth leaders. Youth must be 14 years of age or older, and have completed NYLT. For Cub Scout Leaders, while many of the programs are not available to Cubs, you’ll Be Prepared for when they get older and join Troops, Crews and Ships. Traditionally, the Powder Horn Course has included many Cub Scout Leaders as participants.

A strong program retains its youth and makes it easier to recruit new youth to your unit!
