Trainer’s EDGE is designed for all trainers wishing to enhance their training and presentation skills.
The purpose of the Trainer’s EDGE course is to provide training, skills and help develop the platform skills of a trainer. The Trainer’s EDGE is a “train the trainer” course that can be very beneficial for anyone wishing to enhance their training and presentation skills (both in and out of Scouting). These skills take practice to polish, but this course can “train the trainer” on behaviors and resources as well as offering hands-on experience in the methods, practices and media for doing presentations. Trainer’s EDGE is required training for Wood Badge and National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) staff.
Trainer’s EDGE helps Scouters better understand the EDGE (Explain, Demonstrate, Guide, Enable) training method and gain self-confidence with hands-on training experiences. If you’ve presented hundreds of times or are getting ready to do it for the first time, all are welcome to attend. You will work in groups to learn skills and then have the opportunity to practice them and receive feedback to improve your skills. You will also have the opportunity to help others by giving your own feedback in a positive, helpful way.
Please note, food is not provided an “brown bag lunch” and/or snacks are encouraged.
