Connecticut Yankee Council does all the pre-work to set up the sale, eliminating the need for units to research opportunities, calculating returns, creating sales and promotional materials, managing a relationship with a vendor, etc.

Why Scouts Should Sell Popcorn!

The purpose of the Popcorn Fundraiser is to teach Scouts how to effectively engage with the public. The result is to raise funds to support the Scouting program.

Key reasons why scouts sell popcorn:

  • Funding Scouting programs:
    • A large portion of the proceeds from popcorn sales directly go back to supporting our local scouting programs, ensuring affordable access to activities for all scouts.
  • Developing life skills:
    • Selling popcorn provides an opportunity for scouts to practice customer service, communication, goal setting, and overcoming sales objections, which are important life skills.
  • Building confidence:
    • Successfully selling popcorn can boost a scout’s self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.
  • Community engagement:
    • It allows scouts to interact with their community and build positive relationships while promoting the scouting organization.

Fall Popcorn sales begins with credit for sales for online orders

Friday, August 1 Unit Show & Sell orders are due in the Camp Masters system
Unit order is limited to 80% of your previous years total sales (Show & Sell and Take Order)

Thursday, August 21
& Saturday, August 23
Show & Sell Pick-Up Times to be scheduled
Show & Sell Pick-Up 8 – 11am

Friday, September 19th Units can return 100% of Show & Sell Popcorn
Returns are made at the Council Service Center

Friday, October 24th Units can return up to 20% of Show & Sell Popcorn
Returns are made at the Council Service Center
Show & Sell Invoice Payment is Due Upon Return of Popcorn
Base Commission Will Be Used Unless Goal Has Already Been Exceeded

Friday, November 7th Prize Orders are due
