About Camp Sequassen Maintenance Committees
THE CSMC, with its beginnings going back to circa 1965, has strived to be a strong force in shaping the Camp Sequassen of today. Now working closely with the current Camp Ranger, Dave Boyajian, Chairperson Pat Maxim and the Camp Sequassen Maintenance Committee continues in this tradition.
OUR MISSION – The “Camp Sequassen Maintenance Committee” is a group of dedicated volunteers who, working side-by-side with Ranger Dave Boyajian, are devoted to making Camp Sequassen the best Scout Camp in the Northeast. Along with Ranger Dave, the CSMC takes a lead to ensure the safety, good repair, and general appearance of Sequassen facilities and grounds, and, as importantly, to support the many exciting Scout Programs offered there for both Girl and Boy Scouts and thier Leaders.
THE SEQUASSEN MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE is a subcommittee of the Council Camping Committee Chaired by volunteer Bill Hall with Advisor Joe Andreo, the Council Director of Support Services. The CSMC conducts a Major-Work Party each Spring and Mini-Work Parties during the off-season months. Ranger Dave is currently looking for Scouters to join and work with him and other volunteers on “Retiree Thursdays” too.
THE SEQUASSEN STEERING COMMITTEE, a sub-committee of the CSMC, formed in 2022 to help plan the Sequassen of tomorrow. This Committee was tasked by Council Vice President of Properties and Planning Committee Chairperson Andrea Ulery, to develop and maintain the “Camp Sequassen Strategic Projects List” which is the basis for planning present and future development at Camp Sequassen. Also, the Steering Committee is tasked to administer requests for funding from the “Camp Improvement Fund”, a fund earmarked for Camp property and program improvements, partially funded by a modest rider attached to some Summer Camp Programs. The Committee consists of a Chairperson, Ranger, and 5 – 7 members chosen for diversified skills, and Scouting and professional roles. If anyone has ideas they would like to add to the mix, send them to Chairperson Pat Maxim at patmaxim.scouting@icloud.com.
